Connect’s Mission

Connect’s work started in Katoomba in 1981 with a small children’s disability service, Possum. Connect now supports families through its services in communities in the Lithgow, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Western Sydney areas.

Our family support programs include community based play groups, transition to school programs, volunteer-based parent and carer support programs; NDIS and Medicare funded disability and allied health care and programs; and early childhood education and care in four centres in Hazelbrook, Lapstone and Mt Victoria.

Child Wellbeing Code

Connect has articulated its commitments to each child we serve in a formal Child Wellbeing Code. This code guides our professional practice. A copy of the Code can be downloaded by clicking here.

Governance & Leadership

Connect is currently a Company Limited by Guarantee. In 2015, the Members voted to change the legal status of the organisation to a company limited by guarantee, a process that was completed in 2017. The organisation is governed by a Board. The Chair of the Board is Rosemary Bishop.

Connect’s management and service delivery is overseen by a leadership group under a Chief Executive Officer appointed by the Board. The CEO is Ann-Marie Ellott, a local community member and experienced organisational leader.

Charitable Status, Annual Report and Accounts

Connect works with over 1200 families and 1500 children in the communities we serve. We have a particular commitment to serving children and families facing disability and disadvantage.

Our most recent Annual Report can be found by clicking here, and the most recent audited accounts can be found by clicking here.

Connect is a public benevolent institution and a registered charity. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible. Donations can be made to Connect’s work by clicking here.

Connect acknowledges the funding support it receives from the Commonwealth and NSW Government through the Department of Family and Community Services and Department of Education.

We acknowledge that our services operate on the traditional lands of the Darug, Gundungurra and Wiradjuri peoples, and we pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
